Watch the naval officer, fresh from HMS Belfast, mingling with his crew mates and the crowd at the 2006 International Confex Show at Earls Court.  With four function rooms, two decks, fantastic views over London and masses of history, HMS Belfast is just one of the historic and memorable venues in the Prestige Venues portfolio.  New venues, which are being launched at the Show, include Ascot Racecourse, The West Wing at Ickworth and Great Leighs and are showcased at the Prestige Experience Stand B753.

In October 2005, The Duke of Devonshire, Her Majesty's Representative and Chairman of Ascot Racecouse confirmed that Royal Ascot will be back at its Berkshire home for the Royal Meeting in June.  Ascot Racecourse closed for its exciting £185 million redevelopment in October 2004 to undergo a major redevelopment programme, the most extensive of its type in Europe. Both the track and the Grandstand have been subject to the redevelopment programme.

The development of Ascot Racecourse and Grandstand is due to be finished in time for the first scheduled race on Saturday 27th May 2006.  The official hospitality and box packages for Royal Ascot 2006 are now available.  There is a wide range of carefully tailored packages designed to suit all tastes and budgets. Ascot Racecourse is synonymous with quality and excellence in providing both unparalleled racing and the highest quality catering services.

The second venue to be showcased by Sodexho Prestige at Confex has been described as the National Trust's 'sleeping giant'.  Ickworth House, in Suffolk, is waking from its slumber and stretching its arms, after 200 years, with the completion of The West Wing at a cost of £4m.

The West Wing at Ickworth is a stunning and unusual conference venue which offers an elegant setting for champagne receptions, dinner dances, product launches, banquets, exhibitions, seminars and boardroom meetings.

Two exclusive-use private hire rooms, named The Gallery and The Court, are located on the first floor of the West Wing, entry being via the ground floor.  The West Wing can accommodate a maximum number of 220 delegates with a daily delegate rate of £45 per person + VAT.  The Gallery is supported by state of the art integrated audio visual and conference technology and has stunning views over the Italianate Gardens.

Sodexho Prestige has been awarded the catering and hospitality contract for Great Leighs in Essex, Britain's first new racecourse in 80 years.  The deal, worth £140m, is believed to be one of the most valuable catering contracts in British racing and its unprecedented 20-year duration emphasises Sodexho Prestige's commitment to the project.

The £40 million leisure destination, currently under construction at the Essex County Showground, will include a state-of-the-art grandstand and all-weather racetrack, a betting hall and conference and banqueting facilities for up to 1,200 guests. Floodlit racing will be held every Saturday night and there will be an additional 16 daytime feature race meetings.

Sodexho Prestige will work closely with Great Leighs in the design of the catering facilities at the new venue, which will include a 700-seater 'dine and view' restaurant and at least 40 hospitality boxes, all with panoramic views across the beautiful parkland setting.
