Dine where Churchill made history

Make history and host your event in the smartest function rooms in Westminster. The Harmsworth Room, at The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms has been re-launched as an exclusive corporate hospitality venue. Formerly known as Plant Room 7, this area was occupied by air-regulating electrical equipment during WWII and has become a highly sought after venue for private dining and small conferences.

The Cabinet War Rooms are the preserved secret British Government Second World War HQ where Sir Winston Churchill famously announced, ‘This is the room from which I will direct the war’.  A friend of the media, Winston Churchill understood the power of the press. At a young age he became close friends with Alfred Harmsworth, proprietor of the Daily Mail in the late 1890s. Through their support and patronage the Harmsworth family continues that relationship today.

The Harmsworth Room re-launch, made possible with investment from the Rothermere Foundation and the Daily Mail, has enhanced this striking space, creating an unrivalled ambience, as well as a character reflecting both the spirit of the museum and the historic setting in which it is situated.

The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms - the scene of Churchill's 'Finest Hour' and home to the only major museum of Churchill's life anywhere in the world - boasts a conference facility second to none, enabling clients to meet and enjoy first class hospitality in a level of comfort that the great man himself would have endorsed.......and in a location still heavily redolent of his presence.

Sodexo Prestige, the UK’s leading caterer, has researched and developed traditional British dishes and worked with chefs who influenced cookery during Churchill’s time at the Cabinet War Rooms to produce the menus and packages on offer today. Dishes include Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding, Smoked River Trout, Loin of Lamb, and British cheese selections - all of which can be accompanied by Pol Roger champagne, Churchill’s favourite tipple.

As a significant historic site in the heart of London, the Cabinet War Rooms offer a distinct and memorable experience, an opportunity to dine where Churchill made history.  The number of delegates entertained within this iconic venue has reached 40,000 at 560 events held over the past three years. Key clients who have used this unique venue include HM Treasury, Cabinet Office, Home Office, DEFRA, MOD, NHS, PWC, London Underground, HBOS, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ernst and Young.

‘I am easily satisfied with the very best’ – Winston Churchill
