Uncover London’s ‘Secret’ Garden

Prestige Experience Venues Showcased at London Venues Expo on 28 – 29 June

Whether you are searching for a magical ‘secret garden’ in the heart of London or planning an elegant summer party in one of London’s most historic and unusual venues, then you will find what you are looking for at Prestige Experience's Stand at the London Venues Expo on 28-29 June 2006.

With the Prestige Experience collection of properties you can be sure to find the perfect venue to suit your requirements. We provide catering and management support at unique venues in and around London including the historic Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, Knebworth House and HMS Belfast. Founded in 1673 by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries and with over 500 plant species, Chelsea Physic Garden is a beautiful addition to the portfolio.

Chelsea Physic Garden is like stepping into an enchanted world and proves an idyllic riverside setting in the heart of old Chelsea. The garden is easy to get to and is available from April to October with or without a marquee for up to 325 guests. Relish The Experience offers a bespoke catering service at Chelsea Physic Garden incorporating flair, innovation and attention to detail. This tranquil garden lends itself perfectly receptions followed by a dinner, buffet or barbecue and is a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Central London.

The Cabinet War Rooms, located in the basement of the Treasury building in Whitehall, is the once secret underground war-time headquarters of Churchill and his Cabinet. The Churchill Museum is the first major museum dedicated to the life and achievements of Sir Winston Churchill as is an integral part of the historic Cabinet War Rooms. Arguably the most historically important rooms in war-time politics, The Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill Museum can host events for up to 350 people.

This summer delegates can enjoy a summer ‘picnic in the park’ package for £65 which allows delegates to have their meeting in the cool underground headquarters of Sir Winston Churchill during the 2nd World War and enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch in St James’s Park opposite the Cabinet War Rooms for 45 – 145 delegates.

Knebworth House is one of Britain’s most iconic stately homes and has been a family home for 500 years. Events can be held in the Jacobean Banqueting Hall, Edwardian Dining Parlour and Victorian Library or even in the Tithe Barns, which date from the 16th century.  The house, which is just 30 miles from London, is surrounded by 250 acres of Hertfordshire countryside and has ten marquee sites and facilities for up to 125,000 guests.

HMS Belfast was launched in March 1938 and served throughout the Second World War and is the only surviving example of the great fleets of gun-armoured warships built for the Royal Navy in the first half of the twentieth century. She is owned and managed by the Imperial War Museum and is a popular tourist attraction permanently moored between Tower Bridge and London Bridge. After a day’s work delegates can dine on board in the comfort of the Admirals Quarters or in the Officers Mess, having been piped on board and given a guided tour by an HMS Belfast veteran. Guests can be entertained by traditional 1940s actors or jitterbug dancers with a glass of traditional Naval Rum Punch before enjoying a delicious dinner

Alastair Scott from Prestige Experience says, “Our research* has shown that the trend for unusual venues for conferences and corporate events is growing with 88% of delegates interested in attending an event at an unusual venue and 93% of event organisers interested in organising an event in a unique venue.  When you want to motivate people it is important to combine a venue that is thought provoking and unique as well as being able to offer fine dining and impeccable service.”
